Thanksgiving Rolls out, Christmas rolls in...

Hello Friends!

Happy Saturday. The sun is shining and the crisp fall breeze is blowing. I love it. I'm still at my apartment nice and cozy for now! Soon I will sneak off to my mothers house to see what I can create from the Turkey Day leftovers! Yummo! Here is a quick peek at some of the delicious food we enjoyed.

Turkey, stuffing, ham, baked stuffed shrimp, chocolate peanut butter pie, and red wine. There was more food, I was just too busy eating to capture it all. Ha, we look like a family that doesn't eat veggies ;-( we do. We had yummy yams, and green beans with mushrooms too! ;-)

I'd really like to say I helped more... But, unless eating counts as help, I didn't help much.

How was your Thanksgiving? Delicious and fun filled I hope. In my family, we have a day after Thanksgiving tradition. We get Christmas rolling right away! My mother and I head out to get our family tree and beautiful Poinsettias. Well, the trees are up and looking lovely.  (We'll share those later.) However, these poinsettias  make me smile every time I walk into my living room! Love them. So I'll share one way I'm using them in my holiday decor...

Linking with Flowers on Saturday.

I simply set one poinsettia pot in the middle of my make-shift mantle. Surrounded by ornaments and little touches of green, gold, and red it feels super festive.

Hope you all are off to a great start of the holiday season. Can't wait to read and share ideas over such a festive time of the year!

Season's Greetings!

That's my 2 cents.

  3. Love you fabulous red Poinsettia. I'm lucky enough to be able to grow Poinsettias out in the garden, but the bracts and tiny blooms don't appear here until our Winter and Spring. The last of the bracts on my pink Poinsettia are finishing up now.

  6. Hello
Inside to wish you a good first Sunday in Advent with these words:

    Life's four candles.
Slow burn the 4 light. Everything is so quiet that you can hear them talk to us.
The first candle said, "I am peace. People do not fit me, so I turn off soon"
Its flame was quickly reduced and the light died out.
... The second light said: "I am faithful. For the most part I am just a word that few know about. Therefore I have no desire to continue to burn"
While the light spoke, there came a v. .. in. ... breath and blew out the candle.
Then it was the third light's trip: "I am Love. I no longer have the strength to continue to burn. Men neglecting me. They have forgotten that they must love and honor each other" and the light did not wait long, but died out .
Then, with the one that came a little kid and saw the 3 extinguished the light. The child looked at them and said:
Why do they burn no more "?
When the lights had told the child the reason, the child began to cry.
    Then answered the fourth light:
Do not be afraid. I am passionate yet and with me you can re-light the other candles, because I am "Hope"
With sparkling eyes took the baby 'Hope light "and with that she turned the other 3 lights.
Never let the flame of hope vanish in your life, and let every one of us appreciate, Hope - Fidelity - Peace - and love.
Make sure these lights never ♥ ♥ ♥
    Hugs Hanne Bente ♥
