"One man's trash, is another man's treasure."
Here is a peek at my newest find! This beautiful, cherry red, sewing table was left by the curb on trash day. As I walked by staring at its wonder, I heard a voice say "If you want it, take it." I'm serious, there was an old lady on the other side of the fence. I'm not being facetious. ;-)
The old sewing table has it's new life as a desk in my living room. It's a perfect fit. I love that the top of the table opens out. It opens out because, there is supposed to be a sewing machine inserted in the space. I will re-purpose it for crafts or food presentation when friends come over.
My stepfather is going to make an insert to fill in the gap. |
Note: Always look for furniture finds on trash day! Even sketchy looking furniture can take on a new life after a good cleaning and a coat of paint! Just sayin'.
That's my 2 cents!

Very frugal! I've always wanted to do the same get something that is due to be thrown away or something really cheap and re-paint it or re-upholster it but I never seem to get around to it.
