Urban Dictionary definitions 1 and 2
friend

A real friend is someone who:
a)it's okay to fart in front of.
b)you don't mind talking to on the bus for at least 20 minutes.
c)can borrow $5 and never has to pay it back
d)you'll actually call up and do stuff.
friend

A person who would never intentionally hurt you, lie to you, deceive you, manipulate you, abuse you and who takes great care to be kind to you, honest with you, dependable and loyal. Someone who you trust without question because they have never given you any reason not to trust them. Someone you enjoy being around and look forward to seeing. Someone who would sacrifice them self for you.

My Point of View:
There comes a point in life (whether you are young or old) when you need to evaluate your friendships. The definitions that I cut and pasted above are a good starting point. I mean, yes, some of the definitions are silly. But, can you truly be who you are around your friends and trust them to do the same? If you can't, does that make them a bad person? A foe? I don't know!

In this era of phony facebook relationships, people who call themselves friends but would steal your dreams and, co-workers that you wouldn't bother trusting anyway, how do you really know who your friends are? While I am unsure of the answers to the previous questions, I do believe it is  time to do some evaluating. Or re-evaluating for that matter!

That's my 2 cents!

  1. yeah. i agree. i scale and prune like it's no one's biz, but that's an obsessive part of my nature. and in the end i'm happier for it, because i really don't stick around or even pretend with people i can't too much stand. i've always always been everyone's friend while not allowing others to be my friend. over the past few years i've changed that drastically and i am liking what i'm seeing, friend.

get to re-evaluating. oh yeh, dennis is mad with you because you never sent that junk food you promised him lol

  2. I liked this post especially, now that I'm presently re-evaluating some friendships. It's crazy how some friendships can quickly become stagnant and/or toxic! Thanks for sharing your 2 cents!!! :)
